ETRA completes Presto project with a European wide dealer survey on electric bikes
The European funded Presto project is aimed at assisting European cities with the development of their cycling policy. As part of this project, ETRA, the European trade association for bicycle dealers, is responsible for the promotion of electric bicycles. In that framework, ETRA has written a comprehensive policy guide on various aspects of electric bicycles as well as a fact sheet on rules and regulations governing electric bicycles. ETRA has also assisted the five Presto cities in the organisation of events aimed at demonstrating electric bicycles. Furthermore, in the Presto project, an E-learning module on electric bicycles for local council staff has been developed, whereas a similar module aimed at electric bike dealers will be launched very soon. ETRA is also preparing an informative brochure for the general public aimed at answering the most frequently asked questions about electric bicycles.
The last ETRA initiative in the framework of Presto is a survey among European bicycle and electric bicycle dealers about electric bicycles. The survey is made up of a concise questionnaire that takes little time to fill in. Through the survey, we are trying to get an impression on dealers’ enthusiasm for electric bicycles as well as on their perception of the electric bike market.
