THURSDAY JULY 8, 2010

On 19 March 2010, a notice of impending expiry of the anti-dumping measures against bicycles from China and Vietnam was published in the Official Journal of the EU. Accordingly, EU producers had until 19 June 2010 to file an application for an expiry review aimed at prolonging the existing measures.

On 7 July, the Commission has announced the initiation of an expiry review, which is expected to start within the next two weeks.

The current anti-dumping duties against bicycles from Vietnam will almost certainly be removed. The outcome of an expiry review against Chinese bicycles can only be to maintain or withdraw the existing measures, without variation of individual duty rates.
