ETRA associate member Clean Mobile was officially announced as one of Red Herring Top 100 winners. Clean Mobile’s highly efficient alternative drive train system for Light Electric Vehicles convinced the judge panel and was therefore selected as being one of Europe’s most promising technology Start-Ups.

Red Herring’s Top 100 Europe list has become a mark of distinction for identifying promising new companies and entrepreneurs. Red Herring editors were among the first to recognize that companies such as Facebook, Twitter, Google, and eBay would change the way we live and work.

“Choosing the companies with the strongest potential was by no means a small feat,” declared Alex Vieux, publisher and CEO of Red Herring. “After rigorous contemplation and discussion, we narrowed our list down from hundreds of candidates, from across Europe to the Top 100 Winners. We believe Clean Mobile AG embodies the vision, drive and innovation that define a successful entrepreneurial venture.” In response, Clean Mobile’s CEO, Werner Gruber, commented: “We are very proud to be recognized by such a prestigious business magazine and are thrilled that our development efforts acknowledged by the international industry.”

Clean Mobile AG was founded in 2006 by Werner Gruber, Bernhard Gutmann and Rudi Höbel. The company, which is based in Unterhaching near Munich, develops highly efficient electric drive trains for Light Electric Vehicles (LEVs). The company’s overall goal is to maximize performance by improving the efficiency of the drive train. The entire drive train system is developed by Clean Mobile, produced in Germany and marketed to vehicle manufacturers worldwide.
