Sharp increase of racing bike sales in the Netherlands
A growing number of Dutch cyclists choose a racing bicycle. Sales have gone up from 13,000 in 2004 to 30,000 in 2009 and further growth is expected. The trade association BOVAG and market research specialist GfK expect sales to attend 36,000 this year.

European Commission organises awareness-raising workshop for Iron Curtain Trail
On 16 March 2010, the Commission organises the last of three regional, awareness-raising Workshops for the ''Iron Curtain Trail'' - a Future EuroVelo Cycling Route. The first workshop took place in November in Warsaw (Poland), the second in December in Sopron (Hungary).

The SRAM Cycling Fund awards ETRA € 30,000
The SRAM Cycling Fund has awarded the European Twowheel Retailers’ Association (ETRA) a € 30,000 grant. The funds will be used over a period of two years for ETRA’s role in the Presto project and for the promotion of cycling at EU level.
